Replaced the mechanical switches on the DBX PCBs with a microcontroller and relay PCB. I used the PCBs extracted form the DBX units DBX-224 and DBX-150. Having this kit mounted in, the deck is so quiet that it can be used in the same room where someone is sleeping. This one includes an oil piston at the front side of the deck and a new set of re-manufactured levers for the back side (brake solenoids). The wired one is easyer to be mounted in because it is not necessary to remove the lower chassis of the deck (lot of screws to remove the lower chassis).īoth of them can be implemented without to drill any hole for the IR sensor (non invasive add-on). The other one is with wires instead of the spring contacts. The one is with spring contacts offering a click in mounting. I developed and manufacured this infrared remote kit exists in two flavours. I tought a nice add-on would be an infrared remote control. It was necessary rebuild them for my RT-909 Black project. These are manufactured with the same specs like the originals. I manufactured in a factory here in Switzerland several types of custom springs (of different strenght) to come as close as possible to the values specified in the service manual.Ĥ. As well each deck today is slightly different. But not possible to adjust the brake force to these values.

The brake adjustments specified in the service manual seems to be just a rule of thumb. The solution I found to repair the old bubbled head plate without to remove it from the deck, is a self adhesive thin aluminium plate with all the writings and holes on it.Ĭan be sticked like a label over the old head plate. But many of them don't wanted a head relapping but a repair of the bubbled head-base. I reworked in the past several RT-909 for friends. (John French at JRF Magnetics can explain better the technical details) In the head mouting process, he also make additional spots at the back side to build island for a more consistent and stable grounding of the head cans. John at JRF is using this head base too when someone want to replace the old one. This rebuild included also a co-work with JRF Magnetics. I did it in black (for my RT-909 Black project) and in silver. Is a 1/1 rebuild of the original head base plate. Rebuild of Parts for replacement or repair If someone want to see pictures of my own black, then I can add a few pics in a thread.

But finally everyone is free to do what he want. As well half silver half black painted decks are since often to be seen.

I dislike any trials I have seen since, how peoples mod a silver RT uisng powder coating and other kind of ugly painting. My biggest project over more than 3 years to mod the silver RT to black - but in Pioneer quality.įinal result: a piece of art (in my oppinion) - it looks amazing. Will post later also pictures from the implementations. Here is a list of all my mods, rebuilds, new developments and future ideas related to the Pioneer RT-909 deck.
